Where
Banana Beach, between Agadir and Taghazout
Our ranch sits on the N1 coast road at Aourir — the village everyone calls Banana Village — with the beach in front and the banana plantations behind. It is about 15 km north of Agadir marina, roughly twenty minutes by car, and 7 km south of Taghazout, about ten minutes. That is where the ride begins and ends.
Coming from Agadir
Any hotel in Agadir, the marina area or the cruise port: pickup and return for €20 / 200 DH per booking. By taxi, ask for "Aourir, Ranch Banana" — around 20 minutes.
Coming from Taghazout, Tamraght or Taghazout Bay
Pickup and return for €10 / 100 DH per booking, or a ten-minute taxi. Surf camps in Tamraght are five minutes away.
This is a coastal ride, not a Sahara trek. If you are looking for dunes and desert camps, that is a different trip and a full day from Agadir — ask us and we will point you the right way.
What to expect
How your camel ride in Agadir works
Arrive, or get collected
Come to the ranch at Banana Beach at the time you picked, or wait at your hotel for our driver if you added pickup.
Meet your camel
The camels are ours and live at the ranch. Your guide matches you to one, shows you how to sit as it stands up — back first, then front — and stays on foot beside you.
The ride
Down onto the sand, along the waterline and back through the dunes behind the beach, with a stop for photos. A full hour, at walking pace.
Back for the photos
Dismount at the ranch, say goodbye to your camel, and take your pictures with it before you go.
Golden hour
Sunset camel ride on the beach
Sunset is not a separate product and does not cost more. The ride can start so that you are on the beach as the sun drops into the Atlantic — just tell us the date and we will give you the right start time. As a guide, the sun sets over Banana Beach at roughly these times:
| Months | Sunset, approx. | Suggested start |
|---|---|---|
| December – February | 18:35 – 19:05 | 17:50 |
| March – May | 19:20 – 20:05 | 18:35 |
| June – August | 20:15 – 20:35 | 19:30 |
| September – November | 18:40 – 19:45 | 18:00 |
Times shift a few minutes week to week, and during Ramadan Morocco moves its clocks back an hour, so sunset reads an hour earlier. We confirm the exact start when you book. If you are adding pickup from Agadir, count twenty minutes more.
Why Ranch Banana
Why ride with us
Our own camels
They live here at the ranch, alongside our horses. Nobody is renting an animal for the afternoon, and the guide walking beside you knows the camel by name.
You choose the time
There is no timetable. Morning, midday, late afternoon or timed to the sunset — tell us when, and we are ready.
No minimum group
One rider is a booking. You will not be told to wait for a group to fill or be bundled with strangers.
A real beach, named
Banana Beach, Aourir, with a map pin. Not "a scenic beach near Agadir" — the one in front of our ranch.
Camel or horse — or both
We are a horse ranch that also keeps camels. If your group is split, half can ride each, from the same yard at the same time.
One price, 48-hour cancellation
€25 adult, €20 child, in euros and dirhams on this page. Change your mind up to 48 hours before and there is nothing to pay.
Two animals, one beach
Camel or horse? Or both
Ranch Banana started as a horse ranch, and the beach and forest rides on horseback are still what most guests come for. The camels came later, for the people who wanted the slower, higher, rocking ride — and for families where one child wants a horse and the other a camel. Both leave from the same yard at Banana Beach, so a mixed group rides together. If you would rather ride a horse, see our horse riding in Agadir page; if you want one of each, say so on WhatsApp and we will price it.

Camel ride Agadir — frequently asked questions
How much does a camel ride in Agadir cost?
With Ranch Banana, a one-hour camel ride on Banana Beach is €25 (250 DH) per adult and €20 (200 DH) for children aged 6 to 11. Children under 6 ride with a parent. Hotel pickup is optional: €10 (100 DH) per booking from Taghazout, Tamraght or Taghazout Bay, or €20 (200 DH) from Agadir.
How long is the ride, and can I ride longer?
One hour on the beach, at walking pace, with a stop for photos. If you want longer — two hours through the dunes and banana groves, a private ride, or an evening with a barbecue — ask us on WhatsApp and we will arrange it.
Where exactly is the camel ride — is it on the beach?
Yes. The ride starts at our ranch on Banana Beach in Aourir, on the coast road between Agadir and Taghazout, and goes along the sand and through the dunes behind it. The beach is 15 km north of Agadir and 7 km south of Taghazout.
Do you pick up from Agadir hotels, the cruise port and the airport?
Yes. Pickup and return from any Agadir hotel, the marina or the cruise port is €20 (200 DH) per booking. For the airport, message us with your flight time and we will quote.
Do you pick up from Taghazout and Tamraght?
Yes — Taghazout, Tamraght and Taghazout Bay are ten minutes away. Pickup and return is €10 (100 DH) per booking.
Is it suitable for children — what is the minimum age?
Children from 6 ride their own camel at the child rate of €20, led by the guide. Children under 6 ride on the same camel as a parent.
Is there a weight limit?
Yes, 150 kg per rider. It protects the camel, and it is why we ask rather than guess.
What should I wear and bring?
Long trousers or leggings, closed shoes or sandals with a back strap, sunscreen and a hat that stays on in the wind. Bring a phone or camera — your guide will take photos for you — and a light layer for sunset, when the beach cools quickly.
Can I do it at sunset, and what time?
Yes, the ride can be timed to the sunset at no extra cost. Sunset over Banana Beach is around 18:40 in midwinter and about 20:30 in midsummer; the table above gives a suggested start time by month, and we confirm the exact time when you book.
Are your camels well treated?
They are our own animals and live at the ranch with our horses. They carry one rider at a time within a 150 kg limit, are led on foot at walking pace, rest between rides, and are never made to run or work through the midday heat in summer.
Can I ride a horse and a camel on the same visit?
Yes. Both leave from the same yard at Banana Beach, so a group can split between them or one person can do one after the other. Message us for a price for the combination.
Do you offer a camel ride with a barbecue?
Yes, as an evening in Agadir on request — the ride, then a Moroccan barbecue, with pickup from your Agadir hotel. It is a different outing from the Banana Beach ride, so message us on WhatsApp and we will send you the details and price.
How do I book, and can I cancel?
Reserve on WhatsApp at +212 696 867 668 or with the form on this page. We confirm the start time the same day. Cancellation is free up to 48 hours before the ride.
Is this a Sahara desert camel trek?
No. This is a one-hour coastal camel ride on the beach and dunes near Agadir. A Sahara camel trek is a full day or more from Agadir and a different kind of trip.
