About the trek
Two days on horseback, mountains to the sea
Most horse rides near Agadir last an hour or two on the beach. This one leaves the coast behind. From our stables at Banana Beach in Aourir, you ride inland through the argan forest — the trees that only grow in this corner of Morocco — and climb slowly into the foothills of the Atlas, where the road noise fades and the only traffic is goats and the odd mule.
The night is spent in the hills. In the warmer months that means a tented camp under a very dark sky; in the cooler months we stay in a village guesthouse, with a proper roof and a hot meal. Either way, dinner is cooked for you and you don't carry anything but a small bag.
On the second morning the trail turns back towards the Atlantic. You come down through the valleys, catch the first sight of the ocean from above, and finish the trek the way most riders remember it best: on the sand at Banana Beach, with the horses happy to be home.
Horse trekking Agadir: why two days, not a week?
Horse trekking holidays in this part of Morocco usually run for a week and cost well over €800. A two-day trek fits inside a normal surf or beach holiday in Taghazout or Agadir, gives you the same mix of forest, hills and ocean, and brings you back to your hotel the next evening.

Good to know
What to bring & practical information
Clothes
Long trousers that don't rub (leggings or riding breeches are ideal), closed shoes with a small heel, and a warm layer for the evening — nights in the hills are cool all year.
Sun protection
Sunscreen, sunglasses with a strap, and a cap or buff for under the helmet. The sun is strong in the hills even when the air is cool.
A small bag
One small backpack for the night: toothbrush, a change of clothes, phone charger or power bank, and any medication. Leave big luggage at your hotel.
Safety
Your guide knows every trail and rides with you the whole time. Helmets are free on request, and we match each rider to a calm, sure-footed horse.
Tell us about you
When you book, tell us each rider's age, height, weight and riding experience. It's how we pick the right horse for everyone — and keep the horses comfortable too.
Weather & season
The trek runs all year. Spring and autumn are the most comfortable; in summer we start early and rest through the midday heat. If conditions aren't safe, we reschedule or refund your deposit in full.

FAQ
2-day horse trek Agadir — your questions
How much does the 2-day horse trek from Agadir cost?
€340 (3,400 DH) per person. That covers your horse and guide for both days, the night in a camp or village guesthouse, all meals from lunch on day one to lunch on day two, drinking water, and pick-up and drop-off in Agadir, Taghazout, Tamraght or Aourir.
Do I need riding experience for a two-day horse trek?
Yes, some. You should be comfortable at walk and trot and happy to spend four to five hours a day in the saddle, with breaks. Cantering is optional. If you have never ridden before, start with one of our shorter beach rides instead.
Where do we sleep during the trek?
In the hills, and it depends on the season: a tented camp in the warmer months, or a village guesthouse when the nights are colder. We tell you which one when we confirm your booking. Dinner and breakfast are cooked for you in both cases.
Is hotel pick-up included?
Yes. Pick-up on the first morning and drop-off on the second afternoon are included from Agadir, Taghazout, Taghazout Bay, Tamraght and Aourir. If you are staying elsewhere, tell us when you book and we'll arrange it.
What is the route of the horse trek?
Day one leaves our ranch at Banana Beach in Aourir and rides inland through the argan forest into the foothills of the Atlas. Day two comes back down through the valleys to the coast and finishes with a ride along Banana Beach. The exact trail changes with the season and the group.
How many hours do we ride each day?
Around four to five hours a day, split into a morning and an afternoon ride with a long lunch break in between. Your guide sets the pace for the group.
What should I wear and bring?
Long comfortable trousers, closed shoes with a small heel, a warm layer for the evening, sunscreen and sunglasses. Bring one small backpack with a change of clothes, a toothbrush, a power bank and any medication. Leave the rest of your luggage at your hotel.
Can families or teenagers join the trek?
Yes, if everyone in the group has ridden before. Tell us each rider's age, height, weight and experience when you book, and we'll match everyone to the right horse — or suggest a shorter ride if the trek isn't a good fit.
When is the best time of year for a horse trek near Agadir?
The trek runs all year. Spring and autumn are the most comfortable. In summer we start early and rest through the heat of the day, and in winter the days are mild but the nights in the hills are cold, so bring a warm layer.
How far in advance should I book?
A few days ahead is ideal, because we prepare the horses and the overnight stop for your group. Send the booking form or a WhatsApp message with your dates, we confirm availability the same day, and your place is booked once the €100 deposit per person is paid.
How do I pay for the 2-day horse trek?
A €100 deposit per person confirms your booking. The remaining €240 per person is paid in cash on the day of the trek.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you cancel 48 hours or more before the start, you get 100% of your deposit back. Between 24 and 48 hours before, you get 50% back. Less than 24 hours before, the deposit is not refunded.
Can I book the trek on my own?
Yes. The trek needs a minimum of 2 participants, so if nobody else joins your date, we'll let you know and either refund your full deposit or move it to another available date — your choice. The same applies if we have to cancel because weather or trail conditions aren't safe.
Do you offer shorter horse rides?
Yes — from a one-hour beach ride to a full day in the forest. See all our options for horse riding in Agadir.
Ready for two days in the saddle?
Send us your dates and we'll confirm your horses, your pick-up time and your night in the hills — usually the same day.
